Who Is Harper Lee?

Who Is Harper Lee?

Harper Lee is a famous author that published many novels and her first is “To Kill A Mockingbird” which became an international bestseller and was adopted into screen in 1962. She was born in Monroe, Alabama, which was the same setting or country as the novel. Her father was a former newspaper editor and proprietor, plus he had served as a state senator and a practice lawyer. Harper Lee studied law at the University of Alabama from 1945 to 1949 and spent a year as an exchange student in Oxford University. Her first novel had a lot of thought into it like the name Finch was her mother’s maiden name, the character Dill was drawn from Capote who was Lee’s childhood friend, and the trial was paralleled to the “Scottsboro Trial” which was an African American male being accused of raping a white woman. Today she avoids interviewers and stays away from the public but her book became a legend and its always being acknowledged.

  1. I like that you and me had a few things the same like where she was from. One thing that you could change is you said she published many novels but To kill a mockingbird was the only novel that she got published. But i also like how you talked a little bit about the novel and a little about what it talks about.

  2. I enjoyed reading your blog about the life of Harper Lee. I liked how you gave information about her family and childhood. You could have put a little more information about the success on her book but I like how you added some of he things she did after her book. GOOD JOB !!!!
